What tools do we use?
Death by PowerPoint? Not at Risk & Resilience! Although we use PowerPoint, we use it as it should, as a visual aid. We recognise that people have differing learning styles (activist, theorist, pragmatist, or reflector) and needs (neurodiversity needs, visual/auditory restrictions and more) and utilise a variety of materials to embed learning:
  • handouts
  • digital resources
  • online resources
  • interactive games
  • skills practice
  • peer led reviews and support
  • action planning, goal setting and meaningful reviews

Please note, all courses are 1 day unless otherwise stated. Each course has a full learning breakdown which can be requested via email if more information is sought:

Trauma Informed Specific:
  • Trauma Informed Practice
  • Trauma Informed Practice for Managers
  • Trauma Informed Practice for Support Staff (1/2 day course)
  • Trauma Informed Practice: Intermediate course (trauma skilled – recommended for those who have completed the Trauma Informed Practice course)
  • Trauma Informed Practice: Advanced course (trauma enhanced – recommended for those who have completed the intermediate course)

Frontline courses (adapted for YP or adult services based on need):
  • Support work interventions: assessment, safety planning, support planning and engagement tools (including motivational interviewing, strengths-based approaches and other relationship building tools)
  • Substance Use: an introduction to drug and alcohol addiction & how to respond
  • Emerging drug trends/new psychoactive substances: Including 'spice' use (synthetic cannabinoid receptor agonists), fentanyl, nitazenes, nitrous oxide, ketamine, psychedelics, illicit benzodiazepines and more
  • Psychologically Informed Environments
  • Wellbeing and self-compassion: how to gain it and how to sustain it
  • Neurodiversity: working with people on the Autistic Spectrum and other neurodiverse areas
  • Hidden Harm - parental drug and/or alcohol use: exploring the impact on YP and exploring effective responses and support
  • Managing challenging and unpredictable behaviour (including lone working)
  • Reflective practice (including clinical supervision and group formulations)
  • Mental health awareness & mental health first-aid

Classroom training programme for managers:
  • Quality improvement cycles & systems thinking
  • Staff supervision skills
  • Embedding reflective practice
  • Change management: budgeting, staffing and restructuring
  • The digital world: adapting your response/offer
  • Staff wellbeing: implementing, improving and sustaining

  • Managing neurodiverse staff
  • Brand development: exploring how a brand can be built and maintained through a strong visual identity and a focus on values
